Lana’s Journeys:
The Land of Blue Sun
~chapter 4~
Lana had begun walking with now silver Merits in her bag along with the rest of her belongings. Lana let down her hair from the two tight buns
they were pulled up in and let her hair fall to her about her knees as the
wind blew her hair it also shined in the sunlight as it set. Lana had began
to near a Territory the trees had snow hanging off them and icicles on the
tips of cliffs and branches. Lana shivered a little as it got colder and colder
as she headed north. Lana had finally gotten out of the Northern Forest
and everything became lighter. It was slightly warmer without all of the
trees but it was still cold. Lana took out the fur and wrapped it around her
shoulders to keep her warm. She started to walk into the Territory She
looked at the flag at the beginning of the border of the territory as she
walked to it her big brown eyes skimmed across the letters on the flag it
read:
Lana looked at the sign and tried to forget the war, Master and her family.
“I should have been protecting them” she cried “this is my fault and there
is nothing I can do” she wiped a tear from her cheek. Lana walked past
the sign still crying a little. She walked toward a village and she was
hearing happy music. Lana walked further into the village. There seemed
to be an Occasion going on. Lana looked around and saw different
activities like Dunk the dwarf, pin the horn on the unicorn, heavy hammer
, and catch the gremlin. But the one she most paid attention to was an
activity where you shoot a target with bows and arrows and if you get
three bull’s-eyes you get a gift. Lana walked over and she asked, “ May I
try this activity?” The man nodded yes to Lana then snickered at her. Lana
asked, ”Why are you laughing at me?” His big stomach wobbled as he
laughed, ”Ha ha ha! Small one, you cannot hit a target!” Lana got a little
angry and looked up at him “Oh yeah!” she challenged. Lana picked up
the bow and three arrows. The man looked at her with a smile on his face
in ridicule. Lana aimed all three arrows on the bow and then with her
amazing accuracy she closed her eyes and turned around backwards
and shot all three bull’s-eyes on all three targets at the same time. The
man looked at Lana in amazement. Lana looked at the man with
a smile that said I told you so. The man shook his head in shock and
reluctantly handed her five silver Merits. Lana nodded thank you and
walked away. “Lucky shot” he mumbled to himself. Another girl, slightly
younger than Lana ran up to her looking up at her smiling with her big
pale light blue eyes “That was very amazing! How did you learn to shoot
so well?” Lana looked at the young girl “I have been training for a long
time now it takes practice.” The little girl was very exited “ Wow that is so
terrific!” Lana looked at her “would you like to learn young one?” Lana
asked. The girl answered, “Yes! Yes I would!” Lana answered with a smile
“Alright young one, meet me in the east end of the Northern Forest at
sunrise” The girl bowed “I will be there in the Beginnings as you have said”
she smiled excitedly and skipped off. Lana walked through the village as
the Moon rose into the evening sky. The moon was only half that night with
a single cloud in the sky shaped somewhat like a bumpy circle. Lana
started up a tall mountain with no one there. She started to climb up the
mountain but her foot slipped a little then she kept climbing. As she
climbed higher and higher she finally reached a precipice and pulled
herself up. There was a small, empty cave in front of her. She walked into
the cave and set her bags down. Lana saw that there was a hot spring
inside of the cave “that is why it is so warm in here” she thought. Lana
went out side and brought in some wood and rocks and set them down
on the floor of the cave. Then she sat down in front of them and started
an orb of fire in her two hands. Lana set the orb on the wood she had
placed in the circle of rocks. Lana went into her bag and took out some
of the animal meat she had saved. She put it on a piece of cloth she had
as it warmed near the fire. As the meat had gotten warm enough she tore
off a small piece and started to eat it. Lana finished the rest of the meat
she had then she pulled out her fur and set it on the ground and sat on it.
She reached into her bag and took out her journal and began to write in
it:
