LotBS - Chapter 5

Lana’s   Journeys:
The Land of Blue Sun

                       ~chapter 5~
Early the next morning, Lana had awaken from her sleep she turned over and sat up with her back hunched over then stretched her

arms out wide and yawned. Lana looked around in her little cave then

stood up and walked over to the hot spring in her cave. Lana took off her

faded pink boots and put her sore feet into the warm, steaming water.

First the left foot then the right. “Ah, this feels nice” Lana said. She closed

her eyes and gave a small smile then a soft sigh of relief. Lana got up from

the hot spring and dried off her feet then put her boots back on. She

walked over to her bag and took out her bows and arrow sand left the

cave heading down the mountain to the east end of the Northern Forest

to meet the girl she met yesterday at the Occasion. Lana walked through

The forest until she got to the east end and set up one hundred fifty

targets then soon after the young girl comes running to Lana and bows.

The girl was breathing hard from running as she asked in her young high

pitched voice “I am so sorry am I not on time?” Lana look at the girl with a

soft smile “you are right on time young one, actually a little early.”  “Ok,

good I thought I would be late.” Lana asked the girl “What is the name

that you go by, young one?” a chilling breeze blew throughout the forest

and the girls’ hair, which hung down to past her long sweater and down

past the top of her knee high thermal boots all the way down to her

ankles. ”My name is Arctica” she said then bowed “may I ask yours?”  “My

name is Lana”, Lana bowed then shook her head to the side slightly to

get her bangs out of her eye. “Would you like to start now?” Lana asked.

“Oh yes, yes I would!” Arctica exclaimed as she jumped up and down.

Lana took her bag off of her back and took out her bow and an arrow.

“Oo oo! I know what those are! They are a bow and an arrow!” Lana

looked at Arctica with a smile, “That’s right! Now I want to see how much

you can do.”  Arctica looked at Lana with her head cocked to the side

confused, “Huh?”  Lana gave Arctica a bow and one hundred fifty

arrows.  “I want to see how much time it takes you to shoot one hundred

fifty targets with the bow and arrows” “uh…um…well ok” she put the bag

of arrows back and went to try and shoot the target. Lana started

the time in her head. It was still early in the Beginnings.  Arctica attempted

several times before she finally shot the first target, then as she ran to the

second target she tripped on a rock and landed on her face and all the

arrows fell out of the bag. Lana looked over at Arctica then she closed

her eyes and looked down as a sweat drop formed at the right side of her

head.  Lana sighed, “This is going to be a long day.” Lana still kept the

time as it entered middle day and she started to doze off under the tree

she was sitting under, but then Arctica missed a target and the arrow

brushed against the top of Lana’s head and landed above her and woke

her up.  Arctica, her big pale blue eyes opened wide and so was Lana’s.

Lana looked up at the arrow and pulled it out of the tree and handed it

back to her. Lana smiled. Arctica blushed in embarrassment and looked

over to the side as she took the arrow back. She then went back to trying

to shoot  the targets. At the time she had shot only fifty-three targets. Lana

gave  into her boredness and became a little drowsy and fell asleep

under her tree.  A few hours later, Lana woke up as Arctica was just

shooting the last target.  Arctica missed it twice but soon got it. Lana sat under the tree waiting for Arctica to get finished and was about to get up to go check on her but Arctica was already coming breathing heavily from running back as she yelled, “Lana I’m finished!” As she ran she tripped over an uprooted root of a tree and fell flat on her face into the cold snow but picked herself up and walked over to Lana and handed her the bow back. Lana looked at Arctica “You have taken from the seventh hour to the fourteenth hour” she shook her head “we have some work to do.” Arctica looked down at her worn brown animal skin boots then back up at Lana. “I will work as hard as I can to became an archer.”  It was late in the endings so Arctica went home and Lana went back to her cave and as soon as she got there she fell asleep.

Lana’s   Journeys:
The Land of Blue Sun

                           ~chapter 4~
Lana had begun walking with now silver Merits in her bag along with the rest of her belongings. Lana let down her hair from the two tight buns

they were pulled up in and let her hair fall to her about her knees as the

wind blew her hair it also shined in the sunlight as it set. Lana had began

to near a Territory the trees had snow hanging off them and icicles on the

tips of cliffs and branches. Lana shivered a little as it got colder and colder

as she headed north. Lana had finally gotten out of the Northern Forest

and everything became lighter. It was slightly warmer without all of the

trees but it was still cold. Lana took out the fur and wrapped it around her

shoulders to keep her warm. She started to walk into the Territory She

looked at the flag at the beginning of the border of the territory as she

walked to it her big brown eyes skimmed across the letters on the flag it
read:

Lana looked at the sign and tried to forget the war, Master and her family.

“I should have been protecting them” she cried “this is my fault and there

is nothing I can do” she wiped a tear from her cheek.  Lana walked past

the sign still crying a little. She walked toward a village and she was

hearing happy music. Lana walked further into the village. There seemed

to be an Occasion going on. Lana looked around and saw different

activities like Dunk the dwarf, pin the horn on the unicorn, heavy hammer

, and catch the gremlin. But the one she most paid attention to was an

activity where you shoot a target with bows and arrows and if you get

three bull’s-eyes you get a gift. Lana walked over and she asked, “ May I

try this activity?” The man nodded yes to Lana then snickered at her. Lana

asked, ”Why are you laughing at me?” His big stomach wobbled as he

laughed, ”Ha ha ha! Small one, you cannot hit a target!” Lana got a little

angry and looked up at him “Oh yeah!” she challenged. Lana picked up

the bow and three arrows. The man looked at her with a smile on his face

in ridicule. Lana aimed all three arrows on the bow and then with her

amazing accuracy she closed her eyes and turned around backwards

and shot all three bull’s-eyes on all three targets at the same time. The

man looked at Lana in amazement. Lana looked at the man with

a smile that said I told you so. The man shook his head in shock and

reluctantly handed her five silver Merits. Lana nodded thank you and

walked away. “Lucky shot” he mumbled to himself. Another girl, slightly

younger than Lana ran up to her looking up at her smiling with her big

pale light blue eyes “That was very amazing! How did you learn to shoot

so well?” Lana looked at the young girl  “I have been training for a long

time now it takes practice.” The little girl was very exited “ Wow that is so

terrific!” Lana looked at her “would you like to learn young one?” Lana

asked. The girl answered,  “Yes! Yes I would!” Lana answered with a smile

“Alright young one, meet me in the east end of the Northern Forest at

sunrise” The girl bowed “I will be there in the Beginnings as you have said”

she smiled excitedly and skipped off. Lana walked through the village as

the Moon rose into the evening sky. The moon was only half that night with

a single cloud in the sky shaped somewhat like a bumpy circle. Lana

started up a tall mountain with no one there. She started to climb up the

mountain but her foot slipped a little then she kept climbing. As she

climbed higher and higher she finally reached a precipice and pulled

herself up. There was a small, empty cave in front of her. She walked into

the cave and set her bags down. Lana saw that there was a hot spring

inside of the cave “that is why it is so warm in here” she thought. Lana

went out side and brought in some wood and rocks and set them down

on the floor of the cave. Then she sat down in front of them and started

an orb of fire in her two hands. Lana set the orb on the wood she had

placed in the circle of rocks. Lana went into her bag and took out some

of the animal meat she had saved. She put it on a piece of cloth she had

as it warmed near the fire. As the meat had gotten warm enough she tore

off a small piece and started to eat it. Lana finished the rest of the meat

she had then she pulled out her fur and set it on the ground and sat on it.

She reached into her bag and took out her journal and began to write in

it:

LotBS - Chapter 3

Lana’s   Journeys:
The Land of Blue Sun

                       ~chapter 3~
Lana swallowed hard as she hid behind a tree breathing hard. She
didn’t hear or see anyone around she didn’t know anyone was around

especially in the Northern Forest she was always told that it was a dark

scary place where nobody lived, so why would there be any people in

the Northern Forest? “ I SAID WHO GOES THERE!” the manly voice called

out again. Lana looked from around the corner of the tree and saw an

older elfin man with a long white beard that hung all the way down to his

ankles and no hair on his head, he had a hunched back and wore a long

brown tunic and pants to match with wooden sandals and a large stick in

his hand a little taller than he was. She tried to concentrate to turn herself

in visible and she did. The old man’s slanted eyes gazed back and forth

through his thick white eyebrows then he took a step forward he moved

his stick with him stabbing Lana’s toe through her boot. Lana tried to stay

still with her mouth tightly closed and her eye twitching trying her best not

to scream because if she did, not only would she get caught she would
lose concentration and become visible. The man kept pounding the stick

on Lana’s foot not knowing she was there and she was biting her lip trying

not to say anything but she could not bear it any longer. Lana gave a

high pitched squeal and held her foot and hopping up and down

“ouchie ouchie!”    The old man looked back and forth “WHO GOES

THERE!” He covered his ears “Ouch my ears! Be quiet you invisible

monster!” Lana had just then sighed then became visible and sat down

under the tree with her eyes closed “Ouch my foot hurts” she said in her

gentle high-pitched voice. The man looked over at Lana “That is definitely

no monster,” he thought,  “She is more like fairy!” Lana got up and brushed

herself off then walked over to the man “I am sorry Sir, I did not know I was

trespassing it will not happen again” Lana bowed and picked up her bag

and started to walk off. “Wait come back stay with me for a while,” the

old man said. Lana turned around and looked back at him then she

walked back to him. “Here I will take you to my house” the old man

motioned for Lana to follow him and he led her to his house then opened

the door for her. After she walked in he did then closed the door behind

him. He told her” Please sit down, young one” She sat on a cushion across

from him at the low table in his living room. He poured her and himself a

cup of hot tea,” So young one, why are you in the Northern Forest?” she

answered, “I am here traveling from the Land of Two Moons, my family

and my Master were killed in the war so I am going to start a new life on

my own.” He looked up at her with his slanted deep blue eyes “a knew

life?” The man thought “she is not that old she is only about 4,547

moons…wait she fought in the war!?” Lana had her bag sitting behind her

and her wooden flute rolled out but she hadn’t been paying attention.

“That is a beautiful flute you have” said the man. Lana looked up while

she sipped a little tea ”what?” she looked behind her and saw her flute

“Oh, thank you I carved it myself” she sipped some more tea. “You are

welcome” he poured some more tea out of the pot and into her cup then

his. Lana nodded in thanks for the tea and drank a little of it then got up

from the cushion and picked up her bag “ I should be going soon.” the

old man stood up also “well if you must” he said. She had started to walk

towards the door when he said “Wait!” Lana turned around. “ Here this will

help you on your journey” the old man gave Lana a small brown sack.

She opened it up and saw some silver Merits. “Thank you sir” she bowed.

“It was nice to have you over,” said the old man, “it was nice to meet

you.” Lana smiled “it was nice to meet you too.” Lana waved goodbye as

she walked out the door and the old man waved back and as she

walked out he said a silent prayer in his head “ Be safe young one, be

safe.”
